Who We Are

The New York Women's Bar Association Foundation, Inc.

The New York Women’s Bar Association created the New York Women’s Bar Association Foundation, Inc.  in 1995. We are all members of the New York Women’s Bar Association and are dedicated to supporting the association in its mission to improve the status of women in society by educating women lawyers and assisting them in professional development and advancement and promoting the fair and equal administration of justice. We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization.

Helping Women

Through programs such as the Matrimonial Pro Bono Project, we have assisted women in dire need of legal assistance to be matched with appropriate counsel.

Helping Children

Through our grant program, we have provided funds to the Center for Anti-Violence Education for their Pre-Teen Empowerment Project.

Advocacy

We hosted authors Elizabeth Dias and Lisa Lerer to discuss their book, The Fall of Roe – The Rise of A New America, with moderator Julie Suk, Professor at Fordham Law School.

Our Impact

We've made a difference in the lives of law students in Manhattan.

Through our fellowship programs, we have provided deserving law students with invaluable opportunities to gain hands-on experience and provide assistance to persons in need. We have financially supported a law student who worked on the Immigration Intervention Project at Sanctuary for Families, a Columbia Law School student intern at Human Rights First and other law students who manage the Matrimonial Pro Bono Project in Manhattan Supreme Court.
